A Reminder: When It Gets Difficult

It’s raining. I love the rain. Out here in these smart streets, they call me a pluviophile. I am a pluviophile. A pluviophile whose life is dealing a crash course on a number of lessons. I’m ultimately really grateful. Things could be worse. That, and there is hope tied to the process of sharpening. It’s just a long winded and sometimes, tough journey. But we’ll make it. We always have. We always do. We always will. We make it, through, stronger.

Of the lessons I am crash coursing on now, is self sufficiency. When you’re used to listening to others, learning to distinguish and listen to your own voice can be a hard and uncomfortable learning. A necessary one though, because I believe that you do not live the life you want to, if you do not get used to being one with your voice. Believing firmly in the things you believe in. I am learning to stand strong in the things I want for myself, regardless of who approves or doesn’t approve. I am learning to stand strong in what I know God wants for me. I am willing to stand strong, fall, get back, fall again, get up stronger-if it means I am at peace within. I am far from where I want to be, and I need to be okay with that. Not comfortable, but okay, the opposite of which means lack of acceptance. This, based on past account, has only led to non-action.

If you’re, like me, in a bit of a tumultous phase of learning, be encouraged by this: you’ve made it through 100% of your challenges so far. You have nothing to lose by believing in yourself and your ability to soar. Everything you have, is everything you need. Say more prayers for strength, courage and grace. Push yourself, but be patient with yourself too. Move forward. Make more decisions based on your worth, which is inherent and divinely accorded by God. Of all those who don’t see your value, don’t let it be you. Stay thankful; gratitude is a relationship strengthening emotion: within ourselves, others, life and God. It’s not enough to just think, or feel, more so, to firmly affirm. Have a solid self care routine.

Keep going.

         Keep going.

                     Keep going.

Love and Love,

Nyambura.
