Hello September! Here is to embracing the wind of change, and basking in the glory of Gratitude.

I love the idea of monthly blog reflection: Candids from the last month; from people to experiences to pictures to items. Favorites only, because good vibes are all the hype and should be celebrated.

  1. Patrick’s Birthday: If you know nothing else about me, know this: my brothers are my best friends. Their birthdays get me more excited than my own! My older brother’s birthday was this past month and was naturally, the highlight of August. To many more years of love, fulfillment and blessings, Patoni!
  2. Throwdown with the Girls: Issa throwdown! I love hosting. We kicked the month of August off with a cook-out. Well, Steph (our top chef) cooked, and we helped. For the starter, we relished in garlic bread and the yummiest cauliflower soup followed by a main of oven baked chicken, potatoes and mushroom sauce. Yum! Dessert was meant to be banana split but we were stuffed. I however, made the most bomb sangria, or as my dad referred to it, a “total knock out” 😀 I am an ambivert; while I may enjoy being out from time to time, I am for the most part a homebody. Home is where I feel most, at home.
  3. Trip to Naivasha: I decided to do something different at least once a month. July was ziplining, and August was an impromptu trip to Naivasha for lunch at The Ranch House. More and more, I find myself craving adventure. Nothing crazy, just anything that re-ignites my normal. As I have learnt, there is nothing new to learn in my comfort zone, and so much beauty to discover out of it. I want more, so I am doing more.
  4. No Phone: This was not by choice, but ended up being one of the best things I never knew I needed. My luck with phones is a little wanting, and for two weeks, my phone was being fixed as it fell and broke. The process of not having a device that I had grown (distastefully) attached to taught me a lot on letting go and detachment and also gave me more time to myself. Time that I used to start practicing intentional gratitude (this was huge for me; the value of which has been priceless). I also had a lovely experience learning to be slow to anger; prompted by solid advice I received from a friend.
  5. Girls Trip: Hey laaadies! Y’all, I dont remember a time when I watched a movie and everyone in the cinema was screaming in so much laughter. This is such a feel good film; hilarious and inspiring, crazy and heartfelt. It’s the ultimate chick flick. I only wish the actual girls trip (in the movie) was longer. Looking forward to a sequel!

Keep growing and glowing this September!

Love and Love,

Nyambura.
